MTL Wanderers and Under-20 international defender James Sangala returned back home from Zimbabwe recently where he was hoping to sign for Premier League side Motor Action.
But Sangala said he will stay put with the nomads having failed to agree on some terms of contract with the Harare-based side.
“Le me clarify that I was not invited by Monomotapa as was reported in the press. I went there on the invitation of Motor Action for discussions with the hope of joining them, unfortunately what was put on the table was not what I had expected.
“I trained only once and featured in a friendly game against Monomotapa in which Peter Mponda, Allan Kamanga and Phillip Nyasulu played on the other side and we lost 2-0,” said Sangala.
He also dismissed reports that he had gone to Zimbabwe without his club’s knowledge.
“That was not true, I informed our chairman Mr [Sydney] Chikoti about the trip and the club was aware,” said Sangala.
Kamanga returned back home last week to seek clearance from the nomads while Nyasulu is still in Harare.
