MTL Wanderers defender Allan Kamanga is back in the country from Zimbabwe to seek clearance to join that country’s newly-promoted Premier League outfit Monomotapa.
But the nomads have put it crystal clear they will not rush to clear Kamanga, another defender James Sangala and goalkeeper Phillip Nyasulu who ditched the club last week to join the Zimbabwean side.
Nomads general secretary Hannock Ng’oma yesterday confirmed having been approached by Kamanga.
“He brought some papers to prove that he went for trials and we have received them but we can’t deal with him because he is subject of the sale,” he said.
Ng’oma also said Sangala, who is still in Zimbabwe together with goalkeeper Nyasulu, is expected to rejoin the nomads anytime this week.
Kamanga said in an interview he was hopeful that the club would give him the clearance.
“Afterall Fifa rules do not bar a player to join another team so why should somebody bar me? I have already been offered the contract to play there,” said Kamanga.
Zimbabwe’s weekly tabloid The Standard quoted Monomotapa’s vice-chairman Solomon Mugavazi last week as saying his side has already taken on board Nyasulu.
Monomotapa are also reported to be in custody of former Bakili Bullets skipper Peter Mponda who controversially ditched another Zimbabwean outfit Caps United.
