Southern Bottlers and Carlsberg on Friday rewarded 44 employees for working with the company for a long time.
The 44 were in four categories. The first comprised five people who have worked for the company over 30 years. They received a 13th cheque and an electric sewing machine worth K43,000 each.
The second group had 11 people who have worked for the company for over 25 years. They received a 13th cheque plus a 3 CD changer worth K30,000 each. The third group was for those who have worked for the company for over 20 years. Each of the five people in this category went home with a 13th cheque and a radio cassette worth K14,000.
The last group had 23 people who have worked for the company for over 15 years. They carted home a bicycle worth K8,900 and a 13th cheque each.
Personnel and administration manager for the company Sabit Saidi said the company honoured these employees because they have worked for a long period, which he said is rare these days.
He also challenged other employees not to change jobs anyhow if they are to match the 44.
On of the recipients Victor Mmanga said thanked the company for the reward, which he said would motivate the other employees to serve the company loyally.
