Le Meridien, who manage Sunbird Tourism Limited hotels, on Wednesday, threw an early Christmas party for chief executives of various companies to thank them for the support they give to the French hoteliers.
“This is a very special day to us. It is a day when we are meeting very important people in our business history. You are the lifeline of our existence,” Le Meridien Malawi director of sales and marketing Stan Phiri told the executives at Mount Soche Hotel in Blantyre during a cocktail party.
“We would like to thank you sincerely for your unflinching support over the years to date,” said Phiri.
He said the Le Meridien group of hotels prides itself in friendliness, safety and security, best food and efficient service delivery to their clients hence its success.
Some of the facilities and services that the group has include conference venues, conference facilities, business centres, airport bus shuttle services and the Malswitch credit card system.
Phiri also said the company is on a refurbishment programme which will see all the hotels under its management enjoying a face-lift for the comfort and enjoyment of its guests.
He said Le Meridien is improving 62 rooms at Capital Hotel in Lilongwe before beautifying those at Mount Soche in Blantyre and other hotels like Ku Chawe in Zomba and Livingstonia Beach in Salima.
“Our objective or manifesto for 2005 is not only to meet your expectations but to exceed them,” said Phiri.
During the cocktail, the firm conducted raffle draws which saw several executives winning prizes like dinner for two at different Le Meridien Malawi hotels.
Phiri also announced that the company has slashed accommodation rates during the festive season with effect from December up to January as a way of thanking its clients and helping to promote tourism in the country.
