We are here to win—Guinea

Guinea arrived in Malawi on Thursday afternoon and immediately put their cards on the table stressing that their mission is to win tomorrow’s joint World Cup and Africa Nations Cup qualifier against the Flames scheduled for Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.
Leader of delegation Muhammed Camara said in an interview from Sunbird Lilongwe Hotel where the team is camping last night that they are looking beyond being among the top three of Group five.
“We already have three points and we would want to bag three more points tomorrow, that is our task.
“We are looking beyond the top three in the group, we want to try and give out our best so that we can make it to the World Cup finals...you have to aim high and see how it goes.
“But we have not come here thinking that it will be a bed of roses, it’s going to be real tough. Malawi is an unpredictable team,” said Camara.
The bulk of the players that made the trip ply their trade in Europe and they include Europe-based Kaba Diawara who struck twice when Guinea beat African champions Tunisia 2-1 in their opening game of the qualifiers at home.
Their other key players include Fode Mansare, Kanfory Sylla, Souleymane Youla, Abdoulaye Capi Sylla, Abdoul Karim Sylla, Ousmane Ngon Camara and Kemoko Camara.
They were welcomed on arrival at Chileka Airport by Fam officials who included veep Steve Msambila, executive member McCollins Chibvunde, general secretary Roosvelt Mpinganjira and Fam regional members George Mussa and Francis Gwaza.
Meanwhile the following are the charges for tomorrow’s game: VIP-K2,000 ($19), Covered Stands-K1,000 and Open Stands-K100.
