Once again Easter is here, and Malawi’s local tourist club, Bon Voyage is back on the road. This time Nyika National Park is the destination.
A press release from the club says the local adventurers will start their sojourn on Thursday in Lilongwe for Blantyre at 9 AM and will depart Blantyre for Chintheche, Nkhata Bay in the evening of the same day.
Their Good Friday itinerary indicates that while at Chintheche they will refresh themselves in the waters of Lake Malawi before proceeding to the park, also known as Malawi’s heaven on earth.
While at the park, game viewing, horse riding, and the Nyika National Park social football team which humiliated the fun seekers 4-0 last year will be waiting to keep them busy.
Nyika which has 435 species of birds and the highest concentration of roan antelope in Africa among other attractions on its unexploited area, is a must for those who have a taste for nature appreciation, and club president George Malikebu is excited about this visit.
“This is probably the most adventurous trip you can get in Malawi,” he said.
The five day trip will end with another swim at Chintheche on Sunday afternoon before an overnight ride to Blantyre.
In a related development the club which is accredited to the Wildlife Society of Malawi has said it will soon launch a wildlife conservation campaign in primary and secondary schools in the country.
