It’s Senegal, Mali,
Nigeria, Morocco
The Africa Cup of Nations’ finals in Tunisia have reached a critical stage with the three continental heavyweights Cameroon, Nigeria and Senegal taking one direction en-route the final.
Only one of the giants is guaranteed a final berth as the three bump against each other right from the quarterfinal stage. The quarterfinals have pitted bitter rivals Cameroon and Nigeria while Senegal, the Lions of Teranga will be facing an uphill task against hosts Tunisia.
In the other quarterfinals, Mali will take on Guinea with Morocco dating Algeria, who fluked over Egypt in the group stages.
All these are unpredictable games but with last week’s 100 percent correct prediction that Egypt, South Africa, Rwanda, Kenya, Benin, and Burkina Faso would join Zimbabwe and DRC on the eviction list, I have nothing to fear.
Beginning with the Mali/Guinea clash, which tips off at 13:00 GMT at the El Menzah Stadium, I see Mali sailing through to the semis. In Rades, the hosts will be knocked out by Senegal.
Sunday will see the end of the journey for defending champions Cameroon, who will be ambushed by the Super Eagles in Monastir. Morocco will run over Algeria to book a semifinal date with Mali.
