IT firm to hold website development training

Epsilon and Omega, a local information technology and management services firm, will next Wednesday week hold a website development training on easy methods of site updating.
Managing director Thandika Mbvundula said the training will be held at British Council in Lilongwe. She said the aim will be to empower organisations to update their sites on their own.
She said websites for many companies and organisations in the country contain outdated staff because only the site developers know how to place fresh information.
She said organisations need to have professional websites, hence the need for them to have the knowledge to update sites on their own.
Mbvundula said there will be presentations on corporate content management systems to help maximize companies’ benefits through use of computers as tools for specific day-to-day operations.
“Basically, we want to introduce information and communication technology tools to organisations for them to disseminate information using the Internet and web technology,” said she.
She said her company will demonstrate samples of its work during presentations.
“In large organizations in Malawi people use memos for communication but with intranet, any person within the organisation can view the information,” she said.
