Napolo Boxing Club’s Chikoya Mphande, who has recently returned to the ring, has challenged Perpetual Mkandawire of Sun Village Boxing Club to a 10-round non-title professional bout slated for Sunday at Sun Village Hotel in Liwonde.
Mphande said he could not concentrate on his boxing career because of personal problems but now he has resumed intensive training at Maone Park with his boxing club and managed to beat Phillemon ‘Nkhakamira’ Banda on points in September at Sun Village.
“I still have got the steam and I believe I will teach Perpetual a good lesson because I haven’t lost touch,” said Mphande.
Mkandawire, who knocked out ‘Nkhakamira’ Banda on 11 September in round seven and Nginjale ‘Young Tough Ben’ in the fourth round Chitenje last month, said he has had a thorough training schedule and is ready for the fight.
“It’s going to be a fair bout and I will come flat out. He is already aware of my previous wins and he should watch out for a good showdown,” said Mkandawire.
The fight will be supported by seven amateur bouts starting from 12.00 noon.
