K2.1m tools for Samaritan | |
By: Our Reporter | |
Press Trust earlier this week handed over assorted materials to the Samaritan Trust along Chikwawa Road in Blantyre to be used in vocational training of orphans and destitute children at the centre. Health Minister and Press Trustee Yusuf Mwawa warned beneficiaries against conniving with outsiders to steal equipment from the Samaritan centre, which has been hit by a string of robberies lately. Press Trust donated a symbolic cheque worth K2,125,000 for the purchase of the equipment last year. “Press Trust is not there only to collect dividends from its many investments but to give back to the people of Malawi through, among other things, donations of this nature,” said Mwawa. He said the Trust has donated K343 million towards development of education, health and social welfare since April last year. |
