Malawi Distilleries Limited (MDL) said Thursday consumers should expect Premier Brandy back on the market later next week when full production for the product is expected to start.
Wanangwa Thindwa, MDL sales and marketing manager, confirmed that Premier Brandy has been scarce on the market for about one month because of logistical problems relating to supply of raw materials.
Thindwa said MDL had run out of one of the ingredients for Premier Brandy which it imports.
“The supplier has assured us that the raw materials have now been dispatched and our consumers should not worry because next week we’re starting full production,” he said.
Spot checks in a number of drinking joints and supermarkets in Blantyre indicated that Premier Brandy was not available on the shelf.
It was also established that those places that had the product in stock were still selling the old stock.
