Munde waiting for Wanderers’ offer
by Garry Chirwa, 11 February 2005 - 14:00:14
Former MTL Wanderers coach Kannock ‘Bruno’ Munde said on Thursday that he is waiting for an offer before he goes back to Lali Lubani Road for yet another dance with the nomads.
Munde was supposed to take over from Eddie Ng’onamo who has since been appointed Fam technical director last week.
“I had a brief discussion with Wanderers general secretary Hannock Ng’oma a few weeks ago and he told me verbally that they were interested in my services.
“But then I can’t just take up the offer without any agreement. I need to know things like terms of the contract, period, perks and things like those, that is why I have not yet reported.
“Depending on what they come up with then I will decide but I am interested to take up the challenge,” said Munde, a product of the nomads who rose to become one of the best strikers of his generation on the local scene.
Munde has coached Wanderers three times before and led them to win a number of silverware. He also coached top teams in Swaziland and Mozambique.
Ng’oma confirmed that Munde is yet to report for duties but was quick to point out that his contract is being processed.
“We are aware that he is waiting for things like an appointment letter and we are currently working on that,” said Ng’oma.
The nomads are currently being drilled by their youth team coach Bob Mpinganjira on a caretaker basis.
