Nomads hunting for coaches
by Garry Chirwa, 13 January 2005 - 10:43:31
MTL Wanderers FC yesterday said it is looking for coach and his assistant following the imminent departure of Eddie Ng’onamo who has been engaged as technical director by Fam.
The club’s chair Sydney Chikoti said the nomads have gone flat out in search of two coaches who will be able to lead the club to glory.
“We are aware that we face a race against time ahead of the new season but it is a race that we will win eventually. We have to take our time if we are to get quality coaches.
“We are casting our net wider and looking at various options but we are certain that we should have a coach and his assistant before we kick-off the league,” assured Chikoti.
Reports from Lali Lubani Road indicate that one of the coaches on their menu is their former mentor and striker Kannock ‘Bruno’ Munde but Chikoti was quick to point out that “if he can be considered, then he will come in probably as an assistant but certainly not as head coach.”
Ng’onamo is still serving a notice with the nomads and according to Fam president Walter Nyamilandu, the former Flames caretaker coach is supposed to start his new duties later this month.
