Four employees from various companies have won air tickets from Air Malawi Limited to travel to either South Africa or Kenya.
Two of them won the prizes in Blantyre Thursday through a monthly travel coordinators raffle draw by Air Malawi while the other two scooped their tickets in Lilongwe.
This month’s winners are Priscilla Ngwira, personal assistant to Banja la Mtsogolo programme manager in Blantyre, who came first and Robert Katchowa of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation.
Those from Lilongwe are S.S.A Kabati of Decentralisation Secretariat who came first and the second was R Mangulenje of Reserve Bank of Malawi.
Speaking after the draw, Air Malawi Marketing Officer Mike Ndaombwa said the aim of the raffle draw was to thank the flag carrier’s customers for the support they give to the airline.
“We want to show them our gratitude for the support they give us. It is not easy to choose to travel with Air Malawi of all the airlines that are represented in the country,” he said.
Ndaombwa said he was impressed with the response from the public.
“A lot of people participate in the draws since they [draws] started three months ago. This shows that our objectives are being realised,” he said.
Ndaombwa added that the draw was not only restricted to Air Malawi but also took on board travel agents.
Prisilla Ngwira expressed happiness for being one of the winners.
“I am very happy to be this month’s number one. In fact I had confidence that I would make it. Something was telling me that I would win,” she said.
Ngwira thanked Air Malawi for the draw saying it showed that the company cared for its customers. She revealed that she would use the air ticket to go for shopping in South Africa.
This is the third draw the company has conducted in three months consecutively.
