Pirates go packing
My apologies for missing out on this column last Saturday. I was preoccupied with the elections issue which hijacked everything.
Still on the elections, a lot of people have been commenting on the prediction I made that Gwanda Chakuamba of the Mgwirizano Coalition would win the presidency. Others say I goofed but some are arguing that the prediction was sabotaged. One reader remarked that I should have predicted that the ruling UDF would rig the elections.
Though I have my own views, I will not comment anything on that prediction because the case is now in court. I don’t want it to be matter subjudice. That’s what my lawyers have advised me.
Coming back to the usual business, this week’s focus is on the Caf Champions League second round game between Bakili Bullets and the visiting Orlando Pirates from South Africa.
The Buccaneers will be marching onto the giant Chichiri Stadium with a 2-1 lead from the first leg but the Bullets are banking on the vital away goal scored by Ganizani ‘Njoka’ Malunga.
On paper the South Africans may appear favourites because of their vast experience but the column is assuring all restless hearts that come 5.30pm, the Buccaneers will be packing from the competition.
