My Prediction
by Leonard Sharra, 26 March 2004 - 12:32:19

Grass will suffer
As English Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United come face to face at the Highbury Stadium on Sunday, Malawi’s traditional rivals Bakili Bullets and MTL Wanderers will also be locking horns in a nerve wrecking Bakili Muluzi Super League clash at the Chichiri Stadium.
Apart from creating anxiety among four teams’ supporters, the games have provided a big test for this column which has received praise from all corners except the ‘Hill’ for the true predictions.
Only last week the column predicted that Bullets would pull a draw in Kampala to proceed to the next round of the Caf Champions League. The Bullets did just that— congratulations from the column.
Due to the correct prediction involving Bullets, Atcheya’s team, the column felt Atcheya was obliged to honour it as he did with his players. But it seems the man is not ‘well informed’ as he claims during his rallies. Because of this, the column has closed the chapter.
Coming to the titanic clashes, I have looked at all options but I don’t see who will carry the day between Bullets, our own version of Arsenal and MTL, which is our current version of Manchester United. Likewise, I don’t see any casualty at Highbury.
I know many people will place their bets on Arsenal and Bullets because of their current forms but my prediction is that it is only the grass that will suffer at Chichiri and Highbury stadiums. The teams will draw.
