Things keep on changing at Lali Lubani Road. MTL Wanderers have once again changed their tune regarding their trip to Zimbabwe for friendly matches.
Club general secretary Aubrey Monjeza said on Tuesday that the nomads, who were expected to fly out to Zimbabwe’s capital Harare on Monday morning, will now leave on Friday by road.
“There were still some few technical issues that we had to sort out and we couldn’t manage to leave on Monday but everything has now been sorted out and we’ll leave on Friday and we will play our first game on Saturday against Caps United,” explained Monjeza.
He added: “Our second and last game will be probably against Dynamos on Sunday and we will travel back home on Monday next week.
He also said President Bakili Muluzi, who is sponsoring the trip, has since released funding.
But Monjeza could not be drawn to disclose the figure.
However, the nomads’ spokesman said there are a few changes to their initial programme and the nomads will be in Zimbabwe for only three days instead of the initial 10 days.
“We will only play two friendly games against Dynamos and our hosts Caps United and we’ll be returning home on Monday. We’ll have to arrange another trip in future which will be specifically for training,” said Monjeza.
