Fam said on Monday that the disciplinary case involving Bakili Bullets on the destruction of property following their 3-1 loss to MTL Wanderers last month in the semis of the BP Top 8, was postponed from Saturday to a later date because people were still coming up with complaints.
The association’s spokesman George Kaudza Masina said the disciplinary committee was supposed to hear the case last Saturday and Sunday.
“People are still coming up with complaints so we would like to give other complainants whose property was damaged during the mayhem more time because others are still consulting with their insurance firms and lawyers.
“And then there are others who are yet to get Police reports confirming that they were victims of the violence that occurred after the football match while others are still assessing damages to their property,” said Kaudza Masina.
He added that the association will continue to receive complaints for the next couple of days before opening up a disciplinary case against the Bullets.
“The case will be heard by a full Fam disciplinary committee chaired by Meyer Chisanga and it will be treated with the urgency it deserves,” he added.
Alleged Bullets fans run riot during and after the loss to their sworn-adversaries and went on rampage smashing over 20 vehicles, a PTC Ginnery Corner shop, a DVD Centre at Chichiri Shopping Mall and four coaches belonging to Shire Buslines.
However, Bullets disassociated the team’s fans from the full-scale violence and their acting general secretary Ophman Kondowe claimed that it was Wanderers fans who were actually involved in the mayhem.
The nomads chair Humphrey Mvula described Kondowe’s claims as being “very unreasonable.”
