Let’s talk about it
I was reading a certain Reuters article on the forthcoming Cosafa Castle Cup finals between the Flames and Zimbabwe’s Warriors.
The international news service reported that Zimbabwe’s major handicap is that the bulk of their squad is composed of old guard and there is a possibility that energy will drain from their legs as the game reaches its climax.
I do not agree. If there are people who still remain active in old age, then it is the Zimbabweans.
A good example is a guy called Robert Mugabe, a few years ago when he was 76, and against all realistic expectations, he hooked up a cute lady known by the name Grace Murufu who was in her early 20s.
Quite a number of well-off and handsome young men also chased Grace’s skirt, but it was Mugabe who came out the winner because he still had the energy to last the distance.
So the guys from Zim, like Adam Ndlovu, might be old but they still have a lot of energy.
I very much doubt if guys like Bingu, Gwanda and even BM will still be able to play at the age of 80 like Mugabe...I mean football!
So, let’s not buy this nonsense about Zim’s old players being weak in the knee!
Let me also take this opportunity to welcome the Warriors, who are expected to arrive tomorrow. They shouldn’t rush to queue at supermarkets. There is a lot of bread here and they might even carry dozens for their families back home if they let Kanyenda place the ball behind the net twice—let’s talk about it.
