MZ golf club conducts polls
by Amos Kazonde, 20 August 2003 - 16:49:32
Mzuzu Golf Club recently went to the polls and Vijay Yadiv was elected captain, replacing Charles Dzumani who has since been transferred to Blantyre.
A South Korean, Jeon Yong Hun, was elected secretary while James Nampeya was re-elected greenkeeper. All three executive members are keen golfers.
According to the greenkeeper, the new executive intends to bring golf back to life at the club. The sport has been dormant for the past months.
“The club has been dormant for quite a long time, failing to organise competitions because of lack of sponsorship,” Nampeya said.
He then appealed to organisations to come forward and sponsor the sport at the club.
“The golf course is in good playing condition and ready to host any tournament at any time,” he said.
