Chibuku lucky disc targets 10,000
by Moses Michael-Phiri, 04 August 2003 - 07:52:51
About 10,000 people are expected to win prizes which Chibuku products Limited (CPL) has lined up in this year’s Chibuku Spell-a-Prize promotion to run from August 1 to 30 October.
Briefing the press Thursday at CPL head office in Blantyre, CPL Marketing Manager George Macheka said the competition will cost over K2 million, adding that fabulous prizes in this year’s promotion will be in smaller denomination to enable a lot of consumers win the prizes.
“Unlike last year, this time around we want a lot of people to win prizes. About 10,000 people this year stand a chance of winning by just collecting discs that make up a prize name,” he said.
He said the promotion follows a realisation that more Chibuku beer is consumed over the coming summer season.
“So the company want to thank the consumers for supporting this brand during this hot season. As the consumers will be drinking more of our product, they will also stand a chance of getting a reward, this we hope will improve our relationship. On top of that we want to create an exciting experience and promote good patronage in the bars,” he said.
The prizes up for grabs in this year’s promotion include umbrellas, pressing irons, kettles, mugs, pens, flasks, wall clocks, baseball caps, T-shirts, golf shirts, hand Bags, T-bags, cellphones, bicycles, hot plates and radios.
