Police in Lilongwe are holding Jameson Bwindi in custody as a suspect for the defilement of his one-and-half year old step daughter.
Police spokesperson George Chikowi said Sunday Mary, Bwindi’s wife and mother to the daughter, Tasiya, Saturday left her with the husband at their home in Chinguwo Village, T/A Khongoni, Lilongwe as she was attending a funeral ceremony within the village.
When she returned home around 5PM, she “caught her husband red-handed, defiling the child”.
“He was arrested and is in custody at Kasiya Police Station. He will soon be taken to court,” said Chikowi.
