Bash hangover lingers

Christmas and New Year celebrations are over but many people, particularly fun seekers, are still talking about the parties they attended on Christmas or New Year’s Eve.
An overnight bash Jacaranda Leisure Centre held in Lilongwe is among the functions some city residents are still discussing. In fact, it would take James Kalinde, owner of the leisure centre, some time to forget the bash.
“This was the first bash for us to organise and it was most successful,” said Kalinde a few days ago, “we sold all the Carlsberg beer and soft drinks.”
Jacaranda Leisure Centre— situated at Biwi — is usually a crowd-puller but the situation went to the extreme on New Year’s Eve because of the bash.
Three additional bars were set up outside the joint to cater for those who
could not find space inside.
A total of 200 crates of Carlsberg beer, 15 crates of soft drinks and countless canned drinks were sold during the bash, which run from New Year’s Eve to about 8 AM on New Year’s Day.
“We only had the usual disco equipment and I am sure every person enjoyed the music,” Kalinde said, adding he was so impressed with the turn out that he intends to hold a more organised bash during the Easter holiday.
“This one will be more organised with lots of interesting things.”
