Massa divisional finals on course

All is set for the Malawi Schools Sports Association (Massa) Football and Netball finals for the Northern Region to be played at Mzuzu Stadium and Rosedale Courts this weekend, according to Acting Divisional Sports Officer (North) Joseph Munthali.
Munthali said in an interview each district will be represented with two teams — football and netball champions who came tops in their respective districts in the competitions which began from the zones.
Two teams which will emerge champions at the divisional finals will represent the region at the national finals slated from July 24 to 28 in Blantyre, he added.
Phwezi Boys and Girls Private Secondary Schools will represent Rumphi District in football and netball respectively, Karonga CDSS will represent Karonga in both games. Chitipa will be represented by Palm Private Secondary School in football and Chitipa Secondary School in netball.
Mzimba Secondary School and Manjiri CDSS are Mzimba (South) representatives while Nkhata Bay Secondary and Bandawe Girls will carry Nkhata Bay hopes. Likoma will feature Likoma Secondary and Chipyera CDSS while Euthini Secondary School will represent Mzimba (North) in both games.
The following teams were declared Mzuzu Zone champions: Vitumbiko Pvt Secondary, Our Time Pvt, Katoto Secondary and Mzuzu Govt Secondary Schools in football. In netball the champions are Nkhorongo CDSS, Chibavi CDSS, Katoto Secondary and Moyale CDSS.
