Ad agencies sign affiliation pact
by Nation Reporter, 14 July 2006 - 06:23:45
Two continental advertising agencies—ZK Advertising International and TBWA Worldwide—have signed a partnership deal that aims to uplift advertising standards for multinational clients, including those operating in Malawi.
ZK Advertising International Chairman Zadock Koola said in a statement the agreement would allow sharing of expertise to raise the overall standard of advertising across Africa.
“We pride ourselves in knowing and understanding Africa better than any other communications group to date. This fact, combined with TBWA’s large global network, infrastructure and tools, make for an ideal partnership,” he said.
ZK International is a communications agency specialising in advertising, public relations, experiential marketing, media strategy and media buying in Africa.
The statement says ZK International—currently operating in 14 African countries—will from August expand to five additional countries, including Malawi, where it is working with cell phone network provider Celtel.
It says that apart from Celtel, ZK International works on powerful brands across Africa such as Western Union, Population Services International (PSI), Emirates Airlines, Pepsi, Sameer Group, Stella Artois, British Council and Daimler Chrysler’s Mercedes Benz.
TBWA—ranked among the world’s top 10 agencies—works on major global brands such as fast-food chain McDonald’s, software maker Apple, tyre maker Michelin, Japan automaker Nissan, Sony Play station and sports gear Adidas, among others, it says.
TBWA has 258 offices in 75 countries, and approximately 9,700 employees worldwide.
