Mobile phone network operator Celtel Malawi Limited has appointed Time Investments of Lilongwe as its distributor for air-time scratch cards in Lilongwe and surrounding areas.
Celtel Malawi Acting Sales Director Andrew Santhe said during the official introduction of Time Investments on Monday that his company decided to start giving the distributorship business to entrepreneurs as a way of empowering them and also to ensure wide availability of its products.
“As a company, Celtel is growing and our existing infrastructure on its own is not able to reach out to all the corners of the country in terms of distribution. So we have come with a hybrid distribution model where, apart from distributing on our own, we will also have another arm that will be distributing,” explained Santhe.
Santhe said Celtel has split the country into six distribution zones and each zone has a distributor.
“We have three distributors in the South, two in the Centre and one in the North,” said Santhe before who urged all entrepreneurs that own distribution companies to come in and give Celtel a hand in terms of distribution.
Time Investment’s representative at the function, Asim Shahzad, said his company would work hard to make sure all corners of Lilongwe are reached with Celtel products.
“We will try to serve you better because we will be working as a bridge between you the customers and Celtel,” said Shahzad. |
