For three months in a row, Anthony Makondetsa’s album Kambelembele has reigned supreme in sales.
The album has also topped the sales list for the month of April, according to Copyright Society of Malawi’s senior licensing officer Rosario Kamanga.
Since its release, Kambelembele has been a runaway success and is popular in pubs, clubs and taverns across the country.
Annie Matumbi’s ragamuffin album Amayi trails Kambelembele and Charles Nsaku’s Padepoti is on number three.
Kamanga could not, however, say how many copies each album had sold stating that “figures were not readily available.”
