My Prediction
by Leonard Sharra, 20 August 2005 - 05:17:06
We will drink again
Although I am in the midst of a Coca-Cola party here in Lusaka, I will still start by commenting on something that happened at home last Saturday. Can you predict what I want to comment on?
Yes, you can’t miss it. It happened at Kamuzu Stadium, where so called giants MTL Wanderers were whipped 2-0 by the notorious Civo United from the Capital City. I indicated in the column that Wanderers would not manage to catch Big Bullets at the top. However, I expected the nomads to force a draw.
The column condemns Civo’s coach Young Chimodzi and his assistant Willow Mihowa in the strongest terms for denting the CV ya Mzungu—Wanderers coach Eddie May, who is gunning for the Flames coaching post.
As a former nomad himself, Mihowa could not have been part of such a barbaric act.
I know many soccer followers are eager to know in advance, who will win Saturday afternoon’s bloody clash involving leaders Big Bullets and Silver Strikers. Others want to know whether English Premier League champions Chelsea will repeat victory over Arsenal on Sunday.
Sorry, I am not providing the answers this time round. Wait for the action or call me on 09 956 228. Don’t worry about network since I am ‘roaming.’ The only thing I am revealing this week is that the Malawi National Schools team will retain the regional Coca-Cola Trophy.
