One of Chilomoni’s hottest entertainment spots Liqour Garden was a hub of fun on Saturday night when Zembani Band led by ‘Soldier’ Lucius Banda performed there.
The show started with Joseph Tembo, Victor Paul, and Emma Masauko dishing out their numbers.
It was the first time ‘the Soldier’ performed at this new place and the ground filled to capacity that it was not easy to find a way out to the ‘gents’ or ‘ladies’.
It was entertainment at its best for Chilomoni residents that each number played turned out to be a hit.
When Banda took the stage and waved at the wildly dancing fans saying Muli bwanji Chilomoni? (How are you Chilomoni) the crowd broke into a frenzy shouting Tili bwino! (We are well.)
Around midnight, the place was so parked that the gates were closed to control the crowd.
When Banda sang Mabala, and Tina, patrons wished it were a phungwe because shouts of tichezere (lets spend the night here) were heard everywhere.
Banda’s number Ndiwe Mbale Wanga stole the show as it cooled down those who wanted to turn the venue into a boxing ring.
“I always like peace and Chilomoni is a peaceful township,” he said.
Tembo made the fans mad with his guitar that seemed to speak his language. Smiling all the time he performed, he engaged the patrons in a sing along.
Toast of the night were copyrights of the late Evison Matafale and Paul Chaphuka.
Peace reigned supreme as there was no throwing of bottles which is sometimes the case with drunkards people. And thank heavens, there was tight security.
