The Flames players on Friday protested the 900 rand each one of them received as allowances for three days before departure from Johannesburg to Botswana, saying it was not enough.
The players met before their flight and resolved to return the money to the officials.
“The 900 rand is for three days but we are supposed to get an allowance covering four days,” said captain Peter Mgangira in an interview.
He also revealed that appearance fee amounting to 3,100 rand for each player from Global Africa was sent to Fam, adding this money was supposed to be given to them in Botswana after the game on Sunday.
During a meeting with the players, team manager John Kaputa persuaded the players not to return the money.
